Hazaribag Police Bust Drug Ring: 7 Arrested, Brown Sugar Seized in Raids

Hazaribag: The police arrested seven drug peddlers and recovered 34 grams of brown sugar in two separate raids which were carried out in Barkagaon and Barkatha police station areas in the past 24 hours.

Besides the contraband, mobile phones and other items were also recovered. The raids were carried out on orders of SP Anjani Anjan and was aimed at targeting the supply chains across district borders. In Barkagaon, six smugglers were arrested on Friday from the R&R Colony area of Dhenga. A special raiding team, led by SDPO Pawan Kumar, recovered 26.5 grams of brown sugar from the accused. In a separate operation in Barkatha police station limits, one brown sugar trafficker was arrested near Kapka village on Saturday morning. DSP Prashant Kumar said a search led to the recovery of 7.75 grams of brown sugar.
