HC directs DoPT to allot IAS officer Vani Prasad to Telangana cadre

Telangana High Court on Tuesday passed an order directing the Department of Personnel and Training of the Central government to allot senior IAS officer A. Vani Prasad, presently serving the Andhra Pradesh government in the rank of special chief secretary, to Telangana cadre.

A bench of Justices Abhinand Kumar Shavili and V. Ramakrishna Reddy, which heard a plea by the IAS officer whose application seeking allotment to Telangana cadre was rejected earlier by the Central Administrative Tribunal-Hyderabad, pronounced the order. The DoPT issued an order allocating her to AP cadre based on the report of Pratyush Sinha Committee which was constituted to decide cadre allotment following creation of Telangana State bifurcating unified Andhra Pradesh State.

The division bench on Tuesday directed the Centre to allot her to Telangana cadre.
