HC to frame contempt of court action charges former MLA

The Kerala High Court on Monday said that it will frame suo motu contempt of court charges against former MLA R. Rajesh, after the MLA reportedly made adverse remarks against the Bench that handled university related cases, in a recent social media post.

Justice D.K. Singh who currently presided over the Bench said that Mr Rajesh, who is also a Syndicate member of Kerala University, had thus maligned his reputation and that of the judicial institution. Mr. Rajesh has a case pending before the High Court for which judgment has been reserved. I am not the one who can be put under pressure, he said.
