Minister for Health C. Damodar Raja Narasimha on Monday morning rushed to the site of the pharma unit blast in Pashamylaram, Sangareddy district.
Speaking to the media at the accident site, the minister said that the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. “A three-storey building collapsed in the explosion, and the exact cause of the blast is still under investigation. It is the responsibility of our government to protect and support the families of every worker. We need not politicise such accidents. In such situations, we should all stand together,” he said.
Following the site visit, the minister visited Dhruva Hospitals in Patancheru and Pranav Hospital in Madinaguda, where several injured workers are undergoing treatment. He assured that the State government will bear the full cost of medical treatment for all those injured in the incident.
At both hospitals, the minister interacted with the doctors and reviewed the condition of the patients. He instructed the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) and other senior health officials to remain stationed at the hospitals and ensure uninterrupted medical assistance until all patients are stabilised.
Labour and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy also visited the scene and later met the injured workers. He assured their families of the government’s full support and directed officials to take stringent steps to prevent such industrial accidents in the future. The Minister has also sought a detailed report from the Sigachi Industries management on the sequence of events that led to the fatal blast.
