Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha on Tuesday (February 17) inspected the ongoing works at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), Sanathnagar.
The Minister underlined that there should be no compromise on essential services and instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted 24-hour water and power supply to the hospital.
Stressing the importance of safety, the Minister asked Fire department officials to carry out a comprehensive inspection of all floors and ensure strict adherence to fire safety norms, without any relaxation. He also reviewed the preparedness of key hospital facilities, including the reception area, help desk, outpatient counters, waiting halls, consultation rooms, diagnostic sections, inpatient wards and the pharmacy.
The Minister noted that outpatient and pharmacy counters should be aligned with patient load to avoid congestion and delays. He inspected diagnostic equipment such as CT scan, MRI, X-ray and ultrasound machines, and directed officials to ensure that advanced medical equipment installed at the hospital is fully utilised for patient care. He also instructed that adequate doctors, technicians and support staff be deployed to operate these facilities effectively.
