High on Life 2 release date, platforms and more
High on Life 2: Exclusive Early Campaign Gameplay – IGN First
High on Life 2 is officially scheduled to release on February 13, 2026. The date was finalized following an announcement on Xbox Wire, shifting slightly from its original winter 2025 release window revealed at the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase.
The game is confirmed to be launching on Xbox Series X/S and PC, and most importantly, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. However, it is essential to highlight that there is currently no mention of a PlayStation or Nintendo Switch 2 release. Nevertheless, the original High on Life eventually made its way to those consoles, suggesting a multiplatform release could happen further down the line.
High on Life 2 protagonist and storyline
High on Life 2's story picks up where the last adventure left off, and it focuses on the same unnamed bounty hunter protagonist. According to Squanch Games, the hero has already accomplished greatness, having "taken down an intergalactic cartel, brought humanity back from the brink of extinction, and hunted dangerous bounties to the far corners of the galaxy," securing "fortune, fame and love."
However, that comfortable life is thrown into chaos when a mysterious figure from their past emerges and places a bounty on the protagonist's own sister's head. The new threat is an "EVIL pharmaceutical conglomerate hell-bent on putting price tags on HUMAN LIFE," meaning the stakes are higher than ever.
High on Life 2 gameplay
In terms of gameplay, High on Life 2 is expected to maintain the fast-paced, first-person shooter that defined the original. However, the developers are introducing exciting new features, most notably a skateboard. Squanch Games has teased that you will be able to "kickflip alien cops in the face and grind your way to freedom," suggesting a significant expansion in traversal and combat mobility across the game’s worlds. Finally, speaking about the voice cast, it is highly likely that series co-creator Justin Roiland will not be returning. His previous character, Kenny, was already written out of the narrative in the High on Knife DLC, marking a decisive shift for the franchise's creative team.
