Hoax bomb threat email triggers security checks at Bidar District Court and Tahsildar’s office

A hoax bomb threat email sent to the District and Sessions Court and Tahsildar’s office in Bidar triggered a security alert on Saturday, prompting an intensive search of the premises by the police and the bomb detection and disposal squad.

The threat email was part of similar emails reportedly received by courts in several districts across the State.

According to officials, the email was received around 7 p.m. on Friday but came to light only on Saturday morning when the court’s official email account was checked in the record room.

Following the alert, lawyers, court staff, and the public were evacuated from the court premises as police launched a thorough search.

Officials later confirmed that the email was a hoax and that no explosive material was found.
