A home guard was killed in a road accident near Madanapalle on Monday (August 18) evening. The deceased B. Eswar Naik was assigned duty at the Madanapalle sub-collector office.
Mr. Eswar Naik was on his way to work from his native place Kotakonda Diguva tanda when a cement-laden lorry from Rayachoti to Madanapalle hit his two-wheeler near the Mudivedu Cross. The home guard died instantly.
Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu condoled the death of the home guard. Senior police officials, Armed Reserve staff and home guards paid respects to the deceased at his native place. The police officials gave ₹25,000 for final rites of Mr. Eswar Naik. The deceased is survived by wife Lakshmi Bai, son Harshavardhan and daughter Bhavyasri.
