HTET 2026 exam day guidelines: Reporting time, entry rules, documents and banned items for candidates

HTET 2026 exam day guidelines: The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026 begins today with the Level-3 (PGT) examination, conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). The state-level examination will be held over two days for candidates appearing in the PGT, TGT and PRT categories.

Authorities have issued detailed instructions covering reporting time, documents, entry rules and items permitted inside examination centres.A total of 2,33,294 candidates are scheduled to appear for HTET 2026, including 1,66,137 women and 67,157 men. The Level-3 (PGT) examination is being conducted at 238 centres for 73,091 candidates. The Level-2 (TGT) examination will be held at 383 centres for 1,19,141 candidates, while the Level-1 (PRT) examination will take place at 139 centres for 41,062 candidates.Examination schedule and reporting timeThe Level-3 (PGT) examination is scheduled from 3 pm to 5.30 pm on July 4, 2026. The Level-2 (TGT) examination will be conducted from 10 am to 12.30 pm on July 5, 2026, followed by the Level-1 (PRT) paper from 3 pm to 5.30 pm the same day.Candidates have been instructed to report to their examination centres two hours and 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination. This period has been allocated for security screening through metal detectors, biometric verification, thumb impression capture and identity verification.

Entry to the examination centre will close one hour before the examination begins.

Documents and permitted dressCandidates must carry a coloured printout of the one-page HTET admit card, including both the Centre Copy and Candidate Copy. They must also bring the original photo identity card used while submitting the HTET application form and follow all instructions printed on the admit card.Candidates have been advised to wear simple clothing. Women candidates may wear mangalsutra, bindi and sindoor.

Baptised Christian and Sikh candidates will be permitted to carry religious symbols in accordance with prescribed norms.Prohibited items and special arrangementsMobile phones, smart watches, wrist watches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, pagers, calculators, cameras, health bands, wallets, purses, plastic pouches, papers, notes, chits, log tables and jewellery, including rings, chains, earrings, pendants, necklaces and other metallic objects, are prohibited inside the examination hall.A state-level control room has been established at the BSEH headquarters, while district and headquarters flying squads will monitor the examination. CCTV cameras have been installed at all centres, ambulance services will remain available, candidates may seek police assistance through 112 if required, and additional buses have been arranged on selected routes.
