Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has triggered intense political debate and widespread disbelief after claiming that the state's anti-encroachment task force was inspired by Adolf Hitler. The remarks drew sharp criticism from opposition forces, including the BJP.

Speaking on Saturday at a conclave in Bengaluru, Reddy asserted that the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) drew its name and concept from the German dictator's alleged fondness for the word 'Hydra.'

"Hydra, the word is Hitler's favourite word. His core team was called Hydra, who could assassinate anyone. So, I have taken inspiration from Hitler and named it Hydraa," the Chief Minister stated during an interview at the event.

Historical experts quickly noted that there is no factual evidence supporting Reddy's assertion linking Hitler's inner circle to the word "Hydra," pointing out that the term actually referenced a British Royal Air Force bombing mission against Nazi Germany.
