I admire the way Tamil people celebrate talented newcomers: Nayana Sai

Actress Nayana Sai , who has appeared in Muthal Pakkam , BP180 and the Kannada film Ombathane Adbutha , will next be seen in debutant director Saraj Seelan’s romantic family drama Paris Cafe , alongside Guru Somasundaram and Anumol.In the film, Nayana plays Shamala, a young woman navigating her first job and first love. “The film explores honour killings, societal barriers in relationships, and the need for parents to better understand the younger generation,” she shares.For Nayana, the dream of acting began early. “I’ve loved cinema since childhood. Watching actresses like Jyotika and Simran inspired me to become an actor. Modelling eventually led to my first opportunity in Kannada cinema, followed by Tamil and Telugu films,” she says.Having worked across industries, the actress believes each has its own identity, though Tamil cinema holds a special place for her. “I admire its culture and the warm welcome for newcomers. The love from audiences here has been truly encouraging,” she says.Looking ahead, Nayana reveals that she is now receiving offers from across the South. “I’m currently listening to scripts from the Malayalam industry, apart from Tamil and Telugu OTT projects. Most of the roles coming my way are in the action, romantic comedy and crime thriller genres,” she signs off.
