Rupali Ganguly received the Bombay Times Headliners award for her television work. She dedicated the prestigious honor to the entire television fraternity and crew.
After years of winning audiences over with performances in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and Anupamaa, Rupali Ganguly was honoured with the Bombay Times Headliners: Excellence in Television award. While accepting the honour, she dedicated it to the television fraternity, acknowledging the many people behind the scenes whose contributions have made every performance possible.Reflecting on the recognition, the actress said, “Bombay Times has been a staple in my life for years. Initially, I would always pray that one day my photograph would appear on a Bombay Times Page 3. To receive this award is extremely precious.”She added, “I accept the award on behalf of the entire television fraternity. No actor stands in front of the camera alone. Every person on the set - from the writers and directors to the producers, the channel, spot dadas and every crew member - has an equal share in every recognition I receive.
This award belongs to all of them as much as it belongs to me.”Rupali also reflected on her journey in the entertainment industry and why television became her chosen medium. “I did try films and had difficult experiences, but I had made a promise to my father that I would never compromise on the values and principles he had instilled in me. I was fortunate that television happened to me.”Speaking about the industry’s changing perception of TV actors, she said, “There was a time when people looked down upon television actors, but things have changed. Today, I proudly say that I belong to television. TV has given me an identity and recognition that many actors aspire to achieve. I am proud to be a part of this industry and will always be grateful for everything it has given me.”
