Carlos Alcaraz v Jannik Sinner, a modern classic.

The duo have faced off against each other in three out of the four Grand Slam finals this year, with their fixture becoming a constant to tbe point where it seems like the Spaniard sees more of the Italian than his own family, he joked.

The 22-year-old Spaniard captured his second US Open crown and sixth major title overall on Sunday, defeating rival Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in a high-quality final at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

With his victory last night, Alcaraz also reclaimed the world No. 1 ranking from the Italian on Monday.

‘Seeing You More Than My Family’

Between them, Alcaraz and Sinner have now won eight of the last 10 majors, with only Novak Djokovic interrupting their dominance.

“I want to start with Jannik, it’s unbelievable what you’re doing the whole season, great level during every tournament that you’re playing … I’m seeing you more than my family," said Alcaraz, who took his win-loss record with Sinner to 10-5.

“It’s great to share a court, to share the locker room and to share everything with you.

“I’m just really proud about the people I have around me. Every achievement that I’m having is because of you, thanks to you … this one is yours."

Melbourne in His Sights

“It’s my first goal, to be honest," Alcaraz admitted when asked about the next step in his career.

“When I go into preseason, I always think about what I want to improve and what I want to achieve. The Australian Open is there. It’s the first or second tournament of the year, and it is always the main goal for me—to complete a career Grand Slam, maybe even a calendar Grand Slam. So it’s going to be great."
