Idols desecrated at Gadag temple

Unidentified men desecrated Shiva and Nandi idols at the Sri Ramalingeshwar Temple in Shingatalur of Gadag district on Saturday night.

One of the priests found parts of Nandi’s face and Shiva Linga damaged upon opening the temple on Sunday morning. The priests had decorated both Nandi and the Shiva Linga before going home on Saturday night.

Police officers visited the spot. They have registered an FIR based on a complaint by members of the temple committee.
