New Delhi: India is preparing to host the world’s largest exposition on textiles, Bharat Tex 2026, on the eve of it.With Bharat Tex 2026, the world’s largest exposition on textiles soon to be hosted in India, the country is getting ready for the event too.

Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh will do the same on July 14.

The concluding shouts are getting louder as preparations are nearing completion at Bharat Mandapam here in the Indian capital of New Delhi for Bharat Tex 2026, the country’s largest international textile exhibition in the world. The four-day showcase, which will take place from July 14 to July 17, will give all the players in the textile and apparel value chain a chance to meet on an international platform.

The event is being organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation comprising Textile Export Promotion Councils and industry associations with the support of the Ministry of Textiles and is a reflection of the growing influence of Textile Industry and Textiles, Fashion, Sustainability, Technology, Investment and International Trade in India.

Taking forward the vision of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, ‘Five F’ (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign), Bharat Tex has become an ideal platform for business and investment, sourcing and innovation, policy engagement, and global partnerships across the textile value chain.

The event will be opened by Minister of Textiles, Union Minister Giriraj Singh on July 14. The opening ceremony will be attended by Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita, Textiles Secretary Neelam Shami Rao, senior officials of the government, delegates from various states, foreign delegations and Industry leaders.

Actually, thousands of exhibitors are coming in alongside buyers and delegates from more than 7,000 from more than 20 countries who are coming down to Bharat Mandapam for what Chairman of Bharat Tex Trade Federation Naren Goenka termed as the most ambitious Bharat Tex so far. He attributed the ongoing efforts of the industry bodies, export promotion councils and ministry of textiles as a whole for their support in making Bharat Tex a premier global textile platform.

The event is hoped to be the platform for facilitating over 4,000 B2B Meetings and signing of more than 30 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various business organizations, said Bhadresh Dodhia, Co-Chairman of Bharat Tex Trade Federation. “This event is designed to change business conversations to actual investment decisions and long-term partnerships with him,” he said.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML) and a Core Committee Member of Bharat Tex 2026, said that the exhibition will have over 100 knowledge sessions and State Investor Connect Sessions on trade, technology, sustainability and traditional crafts. He said he believed that this edition would be a big step forward in Bharat Tex’s march.

Strong State Participation

One of the major features this year is the role of the government. Eight partner states (Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu) are supporting the event and 13 other exhibiting states namely Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Rajasthan, West Bengal are participating in the event.

Several states such as Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu will have dedicated sessions of their State Investors, where they will be promoting investment opportunities, industrial infrastructure, policy incentives, and PM MITRA initiatives. A special PM MITRA Master Developer Session is also planned in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

Massive Business Platform

Bharat Tex 2026 will witness that more than 7,000 buyers will attend the exhibition and more than 1.3 lakh trade visitors will visit the exhibition with over 20,000 textile products spread over 1.6m sq ft of exhibition space.

Over 1600 exhibitors will set up stalls covering all aspects of the textile value chain – from fibre to yarn, fabric to apparel, fashion to home textiles, technical textiles and allied industries. The top textile clusters India will have their presence in India including Tirupur, Ichalkaranji and Ahmedabad.

Exhibitors from 14 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Portugal, Spain, New Zealand, South Korea, South Africa and Nepal as well as institutional representation from the United Nations and European Union. Some of the industry’s top sponsors are Trident, Vardhman Textiles, RSWM, Shahi Exports, Colorjet, Arvind, PDS Limited, and Sattva.

The exhibition is projected to enable more than 4000 curated B2B meetings and 100+ B2G meetings and more than 30 MoUs in the fields of trade, investment, technology, sustainability, market access and more.

Over 350 speakers from more than 20 countries, comprising of policy makers, industry experts, business leaders and CXO speakers, will take the stage at the event in a dedicated International Pavilion.

Delegations from Ministers in New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Cambodia and Brunei have expressed an interest. There will also be representatives from various businesses from other nations such as the United States, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, UAE, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

Special bilateral sessions will be held related to India-US cotton partnership, awareness on Indian textile sector and cooperation with Japan, India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, and wool ecosystem with India and Russia.

More than 100 knowledge sessions, featuring 39 panel discussions, 16 roundtables, 37 masterclasses, and eight state sessions, will be led by more than 50 knowledge partners. The sessions will highlight on trade, investment, sustainability, Industry 5.0, technical textiles, innovation, fashion, policy and export competiveness, especially for MSMEs.

Bharat Tex 2026 will also feature the award for Outstanding achievement in the following categories: Resource efficiency, Energy and Emissions, Circular economy, Sustainable materials, Social responsibility, Responsible business practices and Industry collaboration.

Digital Business Experience

Bharat Tex 26 will feature a dedicated mobile application and pre-fair electronic directory which will include features for exhibitor discovery, AI-powered assistance, meeting scheduling, QR-lead processing and digital badges, buyer-seller matching.

India’s textile vision will be showcased.A presentation about the textile vision of India will be made.
