Sreenarayana Guru Open University (SGOU) and the Kerala History Congress are jointly organizing a two-day international seminar to commemorate the intellectual and historiographical contributions of the renowned historian, late Prof. K.N. Panikkar. The seminar, themed ‘Cultural Logics of Nationalism: Hegemony and Democratic Struggles’, will be held on April 28 and 29 at the Seminar Hall of the SGOU academic block. Former Minister M.A. Baby will inaugurate the event and the session will be presided over by SGOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Jagathy Raj V.P., with Prof. Aditya Mukherjee, former professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), delivering the keynote address. Over the course of two days, the seminar will feature paper presentations and discussions led by distinguished historians and scholars from premier Indian universities. Notable speakers include JNU professors Mridula Mukherjee and Harbans Mukhia, along with Prof. Karthikeyan Nair (Kerala History Congress), Dr. P.P. Abdul Razak (KCHR), Dr. Sebastian Joseph (TIES, Kottayam), Prof. Gopakumaran Nair, Prof. K.S. Madhavan, Dr. Malavika Binny, and Dr. Biju R.I.
