IPL 2026 | Dewald Brevis recalls MS Dhoni’s four-year-old tip: 'That's been the one piece of advice'

NEW DELHI: South African batter Dewald Brevis has revealed how a simple piece of advice from MS Dhoni has stayed with him since his very first IPL season in 2022. Brevis, who joined Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025 as a replacement player, said Dhoni taught him the difference between confidence and overconfidence, something he still follows today.

“One of the best advices I got from MS (Dhoni) was my first year actually of IPL, and I wasn't yet at Chennai, but he told me 'you get two sides, you get overconfidence and confidence, and just be more on the side of confidence.'
