How a former domestic help escaped a four-layered security system at an IRS officer’s home has become the focal point of the investigation into the alleged rape and murder of the bureaucrat’s daughter in Delhi’s Amar Colony.

The 22-year-old woman, an IIT graduate, was found dead at her home in Amar Colony. According to the police, she was raped before being strangled to death with a phone charger.

Police suspect Rahul Meena, a former servant of the family who was dismissed over a month ago, accessed codes and spare key locations to enter the residence on Wednesday morning.

According to a report by India Today, citing sources, the house consists of multiple security barriers, including locked access points on every floor and restricted lift entry.

In order to reach the section where the victim was present, at least four locks had to be opened, says the report.

Police suspect Meena was aware of the codes and the location of spare keys for domestic staff, which allowed him to move through the house without raising suspicion.

Accused Held From Dwarka

Hours after the crime, Rahul Meena was arrested from a hotel in Dwarka, where he was hiding. According to the police, he is being charged with rape, murder, and robbery.

CCTV Captures Accused

According to the India Today report, citing investigators, CCTV footage captured Meena entering the residential complex around 6:28 A.M. At this time, he was wearing a yellow shirt and black pants.

Another footage showed him leaving the residence at around 7:22 A.M. — only this time, he was seen dressed in different clothes — white pants and a full-sleeve yellow T-shirt.

The victim, an IIT graduate and UPSC aspirant, was alone at home at the time of the incident. Her parents, who returned home around 8 A.M., found her lying in a pool of blood.

Police have registered a case of rape, murder, and robbery, while an official confirmation of sexual assault is still awaited after medical examination results.
