Is Suriya entering politics? Fan club clears the air over viral claims

Speculation surrounding Suriya's possible entry into politics has been circulating widely on social media over the past few days. The rumors gathered momentum following the viral video of a recently held fans’ meet, where people believed that the actor was getting ready to enter politics.

As discussions intensified online, the All India Suriya Welfare Movement stepped forward with an official clarification, urging fans and the public not to believe misleading claims being circulated on digital platforms.

Fan club says viral political remarks were only a personal opinion

In the official statement, the organisation clarified that the comments made during the fans' meeting did not represent its stand or Suriya's views. It explained that the guest speaker, R. Veeramani, had clearly stated before his speech that the views he was expressing were "my personal opinion."

The fan club further said that certain people had deliberately shared edited versions of the speech on social media to create the impression that it reflected the organisation's official position.

It also clarified that R. Veeramani has not been part of the fan club's administration for the past three years and requested everyone not to treat his remarks as an official announcement.

Suriya's political intention clarified

The clarification also directly addressed the rumours about Suriya's political future.

According to the statement, "Suriya has no intention of entering politics." It added that the actor finds true happiness and satisfaction by serving people through the Agaram Foundation and the activities carried out by his welfare movement. The organisation stressed that social service remains Suriya's priority and that there are no plans for him to launch a political party or enter active politics at present.

Fans urged to rely only on official announcements

The fan club concluded by requesting supporters and the public to ignore unverified posts circulating online. It appealed to everyone to follow only official statements released by the organisation instead of believing rumours spread through social media. This clarification comes at a time when political debates surrounding film actors have been quite prevalent in Tamil Nadu ever since Vijay took the political route successfully. But with the recent clarification, it becomes evident that at least for the moment, Suriya is concentrating more on films and social services.
