Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has said the country is fully prepared to resume military operations against Iran, with forces ready for both defensive and offensive action as tensions remain high.
In remarks attributed to Katz, he indicated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is on alert and awaiting a potential green signal from the United States before escalating operations.
“Israel is prepared for the renewal of the war," Katz said, adding that the military is ready to act on “limited but decisive targets."

He suggested that any future operations could focus on weakening Iran’s leadership structure and targeting critical infrastructure. “The next strike will be different and more lethal, hitting the most sensitive points," he said.
Katz also accused Iran’s leadership of prioritising its survival over the welfare of its population, drawing comparisons with regional groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas.
The remarks come amid a fragile ceasefire and heightened uncertainty over whether hostilities between Israel and Iran could resume. Both sides have exchanged warnings, while diplomatic efforts led by the United States continue.
Analysts say any renewed conflict could involve targeted strikes on military and strategic infrastructure, raising concerns about wider regional escalation and potential disruptions to global energy supplies.
For now, Israeli forces remain on high alert, with officials signalling readiness for rapid escalation depending on developments in ongoing negotiations.
