Israel Says Hezbollah Operative Posing As Journalist Eliminated In Southern Lebanon

IDF says it killed Hezbollah Radwan Force member Ali Hassan Shaib, accused of using Al Manar journalism as cover to aid militants in tense southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military has claimed that it has eliminated a Hezbollah operative who allegedly worked under the cover of a journalist for years while assisting militant operations in southern Lebanon.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified the individual as Ali Hassan Shaib, describing him as a member of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force.

According to the IDF, Shaib operated under the guise of a journalist associated with the “Al-Manar" network, which is linked to Hezbollah, while secretly supporting militant activities.

The Israeli military alleged that Shaib exposed troop positions in southern Lebanon and maintained direct contact with Hezbollah operatives, aiding their operations on the ground.

The claim has not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate response from Hezbollah or Lebanese authorities regarding the allegation.

If confirmed, the development would underscore Israel’s continued focus on targeting individuals it accuses of blending civilian roles with militant activity, particularly in conflict zones where media and military lines are increasingly blurred.
