As the White House pitched for a Nobel Peace Prize for President Donald Trump for what it claimed he deserved for ending wars in parts of the world –including New Delhi and Islamabad – India has reacted to the same.
During a press briefing on Friday, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal was asked about the White House’s push for Nobel Prize for Trump.
“It is better to take this question to the White House," he responded to the question.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump deserved a Nobel Prize for ending conflicts among several countries.
“He ended conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo and Egypt and Ethiopia," she claimed.
She said that on an average, Trump had brokered one peace deal every month since he assumed office nearly six months ago.
“It’s well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize," she said.

India has dismissed Trump’s claims of mediating between India and Pakistan to end hostilities during Operation Sindoor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made in clear on the floor of the Parliament in no uncertain terms that “no world leader asked India to stop Operation Sindoor", calling out Trump’s false claims without naming him in Lok Sabha.
However, while India has rejected Trump’s claims, Pakistan thanked the US President for brokering the ceasefire.
Islamabad also nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in June.
“The Government of Pakistan has decided to formally recommend President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and pivotal leadership during the recent India-Pakistan crisis," the Pakistani government said.
