'It Stands With People Who Abuse UP': PM Modi Says SP Can Never Rise Above 'Dynasty, Caste' Politics

PM Modi said India is moving forward on the path of development at the same pace.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress “anti-women" for voting against the women’s reservation bill.

Addressing an event in Hardoi after inaugurating the Ganga Expressway, the Prime Minister said the SP can never rise above “parivarvad" (dynasty) and “jativad" (casteist) politics.

“The SP takes your votes and comes to Parliament, but stands with people who abuse the people of UP in Parliament. These people will always engage in anti-development politics. UP must remain cautious of the Samajwadi Party and its allies," he said.

PM Modi said Uttar Pradesh is moving forward to become a USD 1 trillion economy.

“Tell me, could the previous government even have imagined building an industrial corridor in districts like Hardoi and Unnao? Could anyone have imagined that an expressway would pass through our Hardoi? This work is possible only under a BJP government. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh was called a backward and sick state. Today, Uttar Pradesh is moving forward to become a $1 trillion economy. This is a huge goal, but the preparation behind it is equally huge," he said.

While the entire world is trapped in war, unrest, and instability, the Prime Minister said India is moving forward on the path of development at the same pace. “India’s enemies are not liking this. Some people sitting within are engaged in trying to tarnish India’s image out of hunger for power Yet, we are not only secure, but also setting new milestones in development. We are advancing the campaign for Atmanirbhar Bharat. We are building the most modern infrastructure. The Ganga Expressway is a major step in this direction," he said.
