Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Visakhapatnam on Tuesday(July 14) to console the families of fishermen who went missing in the recent boat accident and assure them of the party’s support.
According to a party release, Mr. Jagan will visit Jabbar Thota, where he will meet the families of the missing fishermen, interact with them and offer his condolences. He will assure them that the YSRCP will continue to stand by them until they receive justice.
Mr. Jagan will also visit Kari Chinna, the lone survivor of the accident, who escaped after a prolonged struggle at sea. He will enquire about his health, learn about his recovery and extend support to him and his family.
The release said that soon after news of the accident emerged, Mr. Jagan directed party leaders to remain with the affected families, extend all possible assistance and closely monitor the rescue and relief operations. It added that he has since been reviewing the situation and pursuing measures to ensure justice and adequate support for the victims’ families.
According to the schedule, Mr. Jagan will leave Tadepalli at 9.30 a.m. for Visakhapatnam. After meeting the families of the missing fishermen at Jabbar Thota and visiting Kari Chinna, he will return to Tadepalli later in the afternoon.
