He quickly clarified on X, stating: “Please stop reading everything on the internet and stop texting me happy retirement.

I promise you, the day I’m done, I will let you know.”Later, in Oct. 2025, he revealed on Ryan Clark’s The Pivot Podcast that he had accepted a six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. After that, the 33-year-old WR remained a free agent and did not play a single game during the 2025 season. In the 2026 offseason, he has been continuously linked to his parent franchise, the New York Giants. So much so that he recently met with their new head coach, John Harbaugh. What happened next? Let’s find out.

NFL Trade Rumors: Jaxson Dart’s Giants linked to Dolphins WR Odell Beckham Jr

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported Beckham attended the NFL’s Annual Meetings in Phoenix this week and directly spoke with Harbaugh. Multiple sources told ESPN that no deal is on the horizon. But Raanan said there could be a chance Beckham works out with the team in the coming weeks.

The Giants may want to see that before any reunion happens.GM Joe Schoen said on Monday that they would like to see someone like Beckham work out in particular because he has not played in a year. The veteran currently lives and trains in Arizona. But would they consider him?“If we find a player that’s gonna help us, that makes sense for the organization, we’ll continue to pursue,” Schoen said via ESPN. “So, he [Beckham]’s on there, if it makes sense.

I know [Harbaugh] talked about it a little bit earlier. We’ll never not pursue someone that can help.”The Giants picked Beckham in the 2014 NFL Draft as their first-round, 12th overall pick. He played five seasons for them. In those five seasons, he recorded 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns over 59 games. He was named to the Pro Bowl for three consecutive seasons [2014, 2015, and 2016].The veteran wide receiver even won the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

He won the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2014 and two Second-team, All-Pro selections in 2015 and 2016. He is even included in the Top 100 Greatest Giants of All-Time, ranking 37th on the list. He had his best years playing for New York.

Miami WR could reunite with John Harbaugh in New York

Though the Giants head coach, John Harbaugh, brought a powerful weapon from his past: Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely to New York. There’s another powerful weapon of his from the same team that he could use in his current franchise.

Enter: Odell Beckham Jr.The veteran played the 2023 season under Harbaugh in Baltimore. He recorded 35 receptions for 565 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. When sportscaster Kay Adams asked Beckham how he’d feel about playing for New York before the Fanatics Flag Football Classic event, the Super Bowl LVI champion said, “That sounds great. If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that.

I would be excited about that. [Jaxson Dart]’s a good dude. He’s young. He likes to dance...I like all that. So, he looks like he likes to have fun…if I get the opportunity.” Beckham may reunite with his former coach, too. But is the coach interested in revamping their 2023 story? At the 2026 NFL Owners Meetings, Harbaugh said, “The obvious answer would be you look at every option. And if Odell is an option, we’ll be looking at him for sure.

He and I do talk. We do text. We’ve maintained a really great relationship. He’s one of my very favorite people in the world. It’s not like you don’t talk to guys about things like that. And certainly, we have.”However, Harbaugh wants to wait and see where the possibility goes: “We’ll just have to see how it all goes. What’s best for him, what’s best for the Giants. That is the No. 1 thing. It is what is best for our team and any player.

If he helps you be a better team and can make you better, then you’re going to pursue that. We’ll just have to see where that goes.”

Giants WR Malik Nabers wants to play with Dolphins WR Odell Beckham Jr

Like Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones expressed his desire to play with former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill in Kansas City, Giants WR Malik Nabers commented on Beckham’s Instagram post, saying, “Let’s play together.”If Beckham enters New York, he’d likely be behind Malik Nabers, Darnell Mooney, and Darius Slayton.

They have also added Isaiah Hodgins and Calvin Austin III in free agency. Beckham as earned over $108M across ten years in the NFL. Spotrac does not have a calculated market value projection for him, but he did sign a one-year, $3M contract with Miami in 2024.
