Jharsuguda man arrested with heroin

Rourkela: Plantsite police arrested a resident of Jharsuguda district on Thursday for allegedly carrying and transporting 20 gm of heroin. Identified as Bhagirathi Meher, 32, the man hails from Kalahandi district.On Thursday, sub-inspector Umesh Kumar Ahir, along with police station staff, was patrolling during the day, when they received a tip-off and detected an NDPS case near Bada Park, Railway Colony, Rourkela. while the accused, Bhagirathi Meher, was caught carrying 20 gm of heroin in a transparent polythene packet without any licence. Meher was arrested, the heroin and a mobile were seized from the accused. Further probe is on.
