JSS STU to host Japan-India Academic Meet

JSS Science and Technology University is hosting the Japan–India academic exchange initiative titled Wondervogel–II Program from February 18 to 25, 2026, here. The initiative brings together students, faculty, and researchers from India and Japan for collaborative academic engagement.

The program is being organised in collaboration with Hokkaido University, CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute, and the University of Mysore. A delegation of 35 members, including students and faculty from both countries, is expected to participate.

“The initiative aims to promote cross-cultural learning and research collaboration through lectures, laboratory exposure, field visits, seminars, and academic discussions focusing on food systems, environmental sustainability, agriculture, and human health,” JSS STU officials told a press conference here on Monday.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math will inaugurate the program. Eminent academicians and dignitaries from India and Japan will participate.

Alongside the program, the Department of Chemistry at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, JSS STU, Mysuru, will organise a one-day international conference titled ‘Bridging Chemistry and Food – An Integrated Approach for a Sustainable Society' on February 18. Around 250 delegates, including researchers, industry professionals, international participants, and students, are expected to attend.
