K. Bhagyaraj, prominent actor and director, passes away

Veteran actor-director K. Bhagyaraj passed away in Chennai on Saturday (June 27, 2026).

Earlier in the day, he was taken to a private hospital with complaints of chest pain. Hospital sources told The Hindu that he suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest and could not be resuscitated.

He is survived by his wife, Poornima Bhagyaraj, and their children, actor Shanthanu and Saranya Bhagyaraj.
