Kanpur Metro organise special yoga session at Metro depot

Times News NetworkKanpur: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Kanpur Metro organized a special yoga session at its Metro depot located near Gurudev Chauraha here on Sunday. The officers and employees of Kanpur Metro participated in the session and performed various yoga practices under the guidance of certified instructors from the Art of Living Foundation.

The event was attended by Azhar Sartaj, chief project manager, Ranjeet Kumar, chief project manager and other senior officials of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC).It is noteworthy that International Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide every year on June 21. The year 2026 marks the 12th edition of this global observance. On this occasion, all officers and employees of Kanpur Metro assembled at the Gurudev Chauraha Metro Depot at 9 am to take part in the yoga session.The session was conducted by Art of Living yoga instructors Rahul Yaduvanshi, Vibha Tripathi, and Tanu Tiwari. They guided the participants through various yoga postures and breathing exercises. The instructors also highlighted the importance and relevance of yoga in building a healthy lifestyle and explained the benefits of regular yoga practice.UPMRC managing director Sushil Kumar also participated in a yoga session organized at the Transport Nagar depot in Lucknow. Addressing the officers and employees present on the occasion, he urged everyone to dedicate time to their health in their daily routines and adopt regular yoga practice. He said, “Yoga is India’s ancient and glorious heritage, which today is guiding the entire world towards a healthier and more balanced way of life. Recognizing the significance of yoga in everyday life, UPMRC has also incorporated yoga sessions into its employee training programmes.
