The State government on Thursday decided to undo the denotification exercise undertaken by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) with respect to 29 cases where it had issued preliminary notifications or final notifications for acquiring land. Sources said that they all total over 50 acres.
According to Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil, there is no scope for denotification after the BDA initiates the acquisition process. “Despite the rule, denotification was taken up, which is illegal. Action will be initiated against officials who were responsible for the illegal act,” he said.
