KOPPAL: Police have disclosed an unusual incident in Budagumpa village, located in Koppal taluk, where a woman, in collusion with her lover, ended her husband's life due to his interference in their extramarital affair, and then proceeded to celebrate the Naga Panchami festival. The Munirabad police resolved the murder investigation, leading to the arrest of Netravati, and her partner, Shyamanna, for killing Dyamanna Vajrabandi.During a press briefing on Friday, SP Ram L Arasiddi disclosed that Shyamanna, a truck driver, and Netravati belonged to the same village, Kamanur, in Koppal taluk. Despite being married to Dyamanna and having three children, Netravati maintained an illicit relationship with Shyamanna. They devised a murder plan after the husband found out about their relationship and opposed it.On July 25, Shyamanna borrowed a rod from a nearby garage in Budagumpa and fatally attacked Dyamanna at his agricultural land. After the assault, he doused the body with petrol, set it ablaze, and returned the murder weapon. While the murder was taking place, Netravati was at home celebrating Naga Panchami, consuming festive sweets by herself.
When questioned about her husband's whereabouts, she claimed he travelled to Dharmasthala. The SP explained that Netravati subsequently switched off her mobile phone and remained at home for five days. Her behaviour aroused suspicion among Dyamanna's brothers, who filed a complaint with the Munirabad police.During questioning, Netravati revealed her husband's murder and eventually admitted to plotting the crime with Shyamanna.
