In a bid to help artists from Karnataka get easy access to participate and showcase their talents in events in various countries, the Karnataka government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), which is the country’s premier institution for cultural diplomacy under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
According to a release by Karnataka’s Kannada and Culture Department, the MoU would also help State artists get funding towards their airfare/boarding charges.
The MoU was signed in Delhi by Manisha Swami, Joint Secretary, MEA and Deputy Director General, ICCR and J. Manjunath, Secretary, Department of Kannada and Culture, Karnataka, in the presence of K. Nandini Singla, Director General of ICCR.
