Kedarnath Yatra Suspended: Pilgrims have been stopped temporarily as a preventive measure amid adverse weather conditions.

The Kedarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended following heavy rainfall and an orange weather alert issued in Uttarakhand, officials said.

The pilgrimage has been halted as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of devotees travelling to the shrine. Authorities said the yatra will resume once weather conditions improve.

According to officials, the decision was taken keeping passenger safety in mind. Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop said pilgrims have been stopped temporarily as a preventive measure amid adverse weather conditions.

Authorities have also directed officials to hold pilgrims at designated halt points, including Srinagar, until the weather normalises and the route is considered safe for travel.
