Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal welcomed what he described as the Ayodhya Bar Association’s decision to boycott those accused of misappropriating donations made at the Shri Ram Mandir and urged people across the country to socially boycott the alleged “donation thieves".

In a post on X, Kejriwal said the Ayodhya Bar Association had decided to boycott the accused and appealed for a wider social boycott of those he referred to as “chanda-chors" (donation thieves) and those supporting them.

“A few days ago, I had appealed to people across the country to socially boycott the ‘chanda-chors’. Now the entire country must socially boycott the ‘chanda-chors’ and those who support them," Kejriwal wrote.

The AAP leader had visited Ayodhya on Friday, where he offered prayers at the Ram Mandir and Hanumangarhi amid the party’s allegations regarding alleged irregularities in temple offerings and land transactions.

Addressing a press conference during the visit, Kejriwal reiterated his appeal for a social boycott, saying it was now society’s responsibility to ensure accountability even if legal proceedings took time. He also urged citizens to stand against those accused of misappropriating donations made by devotees.

The AAP has, in recent days, repeatedly alleged irregularities in offerings and land purchases linked to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The trust has denied wrongdoing in the past, while the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into certain allegations.
