A complaint was filed with the State police chief and the Election Commission against the controversial speech made by P.K. Krishnadas, the BJP candidate from the Kattakada constituency. The complaint filed by J.S. Akhil, a KPCC member, alleges that Mr. Krishnadas had made highly inflammatory and derogatory remarks targeting specific religious communities and political alliances during an election rally held in Kattakada on April 5.

Specifically, he alleged that a victory for the UDF would result in the State being governed by “pro-Pakistan” entities and claimed that Hindu and Christian women would be victims of “Love Jihad” and “recruited for anti-national activities.” These statements were made with the clear intent to polarise the electorate on communal lines, the complaint said.
