The results of the Civil Services Examination 2025 brought cheer for Kerala with many candidates securing high ranks.

Over ten candidates from the State have secured spots within the top 200 ranks, while nearly 30 aspirants were placed within the top 500.

Sreeja J.S. from Naruvamoodu in Thiruvananthapuram secured the 57th rank in her first attempt, overcoming several odds.

The success story of Sreeja, the daughter of Jayakumar, a daily wage labourer, and Sheeja Kumari, stands as a powerful example of determination and perseverance, especially considering the financial hardships her family faced.

Sreeja, who holds a postgraduate degree in political sciences, recalled that her family always supported her ambitions. “Whatever I needed for my studies, my family stood by me. My responsibility was to study well. I had the energy and determination to move forward,” she says.

Her dream of joining the Civil Services began when she was studying in the seventh grade, after she learned about IAS officer Haritha V. Kumar securing the first rank in the Civil Services Examination in 2012. The momentous occasion sparked her ambition. Having developed a strong interest in international relations during her college days, she is hopeful of securing a position in the Indian Foreign Service.

An emotional Jayakumar said the family always found a way to pay for their children’s education, even when they did not have enough money. But, he credited his daughter’s success to her hard work and dedication.

The other candidates who figured in the top-200 ranks include Aditya Narayan H. from Asramam, Kollam (68), Gopika B. from Kallummoodu, Thiruvananthapuram (105), Ajay R. Raj from Chathangottunada, Kozhikode (109), Vineeth Lohidakshan from Kodanad, Ernakulam (129), Sreelakshmi V.C. from Chettupuzha, Thrissur (133), Vishnupriya from Arattupuzha, Thrissur (149), Surya V.K. from Kannammoola, Thiruvananthapuram (162), Divya S., from Kanjiram, Kottayam (166), Kajal Raju from Nileshwar, Kasaragod (167), and Nithin Pradeep from Pallikkunnu, Kannur (172).
