Khammam police secure five convictions in POCSO cases registered at three police stations so far this year

The Khammam police have secured five convictions in separate cases registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Khammam urban, Khammam rural and Raghunadhapalem police stations so far this year.

These include one life imprisonment, another rigorous imprisonment for 20 years, jail terms ranging seven, five and three years and six months respectively, police said.

The police also achieved a slew of convictions in cases booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Khammam Police Commissionerate limits.

Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt appreciated Additional Public Prosecutor J. Sharath Kumar Reddy and the Investigating Officers concerned for achieving significant convictions in POCSO and NDPS cases through effective investigation and concerted efforts.
