Patna’s coaching industry is witnessing a major controversy after tensions between Khan Sir and Gyan Bindu educator Roshan Anand escalated into protests, police action and a social media battle.
What began as a rivalry between two popular coaching platforms has now turned into a larger dispute involving students, public perception and online influence.
The controversy intensified earlier this week after an incident near Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna. According to police, a group allegedly entered the premises, created a disturbance and assaulted a security guard, who was seriously injured. Police later arrested Roshan Anand and several others in connection with the case.
Following the arrests, the matter quickly became a major talking point among students and on social media. Supporters of both sides began posting videos and statements online, further fuelling the conflict.
On Thursday, students backing Anand staged protests in Patna, demanding his release. Protesters raised slogans and accused the administration of taking one-sided action in the case.
Several students also demanded action against Khan Sir, arguing that the investigation should examine all sides of the controversy. Heavy police deployment was seen at the protest sites to maintain law and order.
The rivalry between Khan Sir and Gyan Bindu has reportedly been building for some time, with both platforms enjoying a strong presence among students preparing for competitive examinations in Bihar.
Khan Sir is known for his simple teaching style and immense popularity among government job aspirants. His classes and online videos attract lakhs of students from Bihar and across the country.
Meanwhile, Gyan Bindu and Anand have also built a substantial student base through their digital classes and competitive exam preparation programmes.

What was once viewed as routine competition between coaching institutes has now evolved into a larger battle over influence, popularity and public image in Bihar’s rapidly growing digital education space.
