Excerpts.A foodie at heartI always carry sandesh and the beautiful gur mithai from Kolkata. And whenever I visit this City of Joy, I make sure to try the phuchkas and the kathi rolls, which are absolutely amazing, apart from all the fish delicacies.

The food to savour in Kolkata is truly endless. You can call me a foodie. I love Kolkata and Bengali food, and whenever I go somewhere, I like to try the local regional food. I especially love fish, in any kind of preparation.

And our simple, traditional Indian food from different regions-that’s my favourite cuisine. I’m not a great cook, so I don’t really try my hand at it. But yes, I won’t let anybody go hungry, I can cook at least that much.

Spirituality transformed my life’My journey towards spirituality began in 2013, under my spiritual guide Shri Tarneiv Ji and my partner Rahul who introduced me to him. It has opened a new chapter for me in devotional singing. With each passing day, my love and devotion for Lord Krishna keeps growing.

Marriage is beautiful but not for everyoneI’ve always believed that marriage is a beautiful institution, but it’s not necessarily for everyone. I was never really in that space of wanting to get married, have children, and follow that conventional path.

Around the time I met Rahul (Dev), he was just returning to his career after taking a sabbatical following the loss of his wife a few years earlier. We are happy in our own space where our friendship and deep bonding matters the most than anything else.

Kolkata is definitely on my concert wishlistIt feels great to be in Kolkata mostly because of the warmth of the people here. I love the culture, the beautiful places, and the vibe of this city—it’s truly amazing. I have started singing devotional songs, and my first track is Krishna Vandana, which celebrates the 108 names and qualities of Lord Krishna. I never imagined that singing would become such an important part of my life, but today I am deeply enjoying the journey.

We are now performing devotional concerts across India, and it has been a truly fulfilling experience. I would especially love to perform in the city soon and hope that opportunity comes my way.Pics: Anindya Saha
