KSEB employee succumbs to injuries in road accident

A 22-year-old employee of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) on Tuesday succumbed to injuries after a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus ran over him in a road accident last month.

The police identified the deceased as Nikhil of Kunnumpuram. The accident occurred at Edalavattom, near Nedumangad, around 7.30 p.m. on January 29.

The accident reportedly happened after a police jeep travelling from Palode to Nedumangad applied a sudden brake, and Nikhil, who was riding a motorcycle behind the jeep, lost control after his bike’s handle struck the rear of the jeep. Nikhil was thrown onto the road following the impact, and a KSRTC bus headed for Kulathupuzha from Nedumangad ran over him. He sustained serious injuries in the accident.

He had since been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
