Kylian Mbappé is leading France in the FIFA World Cup 2026. The 27-year-old footballer opened the scoring for Les Bleus in the 66th minute of their first Group I match against Senegal at the New York–New Jersey Stadium on Tuesday (Wednesday IST). His goal against Senegal in the ongoing match helped Mbappé equal Olivier Giroud’s record for the most goals scored for France in international football.
Giroud played 137 matches for France from 2011 to 2024 and scored 57 goals, whereas the ongoing FIFA World Cup match in New Jersey is Mbappé’s 99th appearance for his country, in which he has also reached 57 international goals.
