MEERUT: A 55-year-old man died on Friday after his health suddenly deteriorated during a public hearing related to a land dispute at Kithore police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, officials said.According to police, the deceased, identified as Mehboob (55), son of Babu and a resident of Shahjahanpur village, had arrived at the police station in connection with a land dispute case.Circle Officer (Mawana) Pankaj Lavania said a complaint regarding the dispute between two residents of Shahjahanpur village had been submitted on May 25, following which both parties were called for a hearing on Friday.Both parties were called to the police station on Friday in connection with the hearing, the officer said.Police said Mehboob was sitting on a bench near a water cooler under a tree outside the police station gate when his health suddenly worsened.Police personnel immediately gave him water and administered CPR with the help of people present there. Lavania said the SHO of Kithore police station rushed him to a private hospital in a government vehicle. Doctors there later referred him to a medical college for further treatment.However Mehboob later died during treatment.
