Telangana man killed at home; son missing, police suspect murder

HYDERABAD: A 65-year-old sheep herder was found bludgeoned to death at his home in Pulimamidi village in Rangareddy early on Wednesday. The victim's wife said their son may have killed him due to a dispute over transferring ownership of land.

The victim, Pasupala Chinna Jangayya, was found dead at his under-construction house by his wife Padmamma at 5.45 am. Padmamma told police that she had slept at her daughter's house in the village on Tuesday night. Kandukur inspector G Sitaram said Jangayya owned 20 guntas land in village. His son, Pasupala Shekhar (34), a mason, had allegedly been pressurising Jangayya to sell a part of land to finance construction of a separate house for him. Shekhar had dinner with his parents on Tuesday night before Padmamma left for her daughter's house. He has been missing since the body was found. A special team has been formed to trace the suspect. tnn
