The Delhi Police Special Cell’s Counter-Intelligence team has arrested gangster Mahfooz, alias Bobby Kabootar, a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who had been absconding for the past seven years. He was apprehended during a special operation near the Delhi-Gurugram border area.

Police said Bobby Kabootar is considered a major gangster from North East Delhi and was wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as well as under provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

He is allegedly involved in several high-profile criminal cases, including the murder of the Nadeem Brothers, where he is accused of firing the maximum number of shots.

Significantly, he was also wanted in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly. Investigators claim he supplied weapons to the shooters involved in the attack, with the firearms reportedly sourced from abroad.

In the Disha Patani firing case, two of the shooters were killed in an encounter, while three others had been arrested earlier. Police are now interrogating Bobby Kabootar to determine on whose instructions he arranged weapons for the shooters.

Delhi Police confirmed that he was arrested on Wednesday and that further questioning is underway.
