The Left student unions have called for a State-wide bandh of educational institutions on July 10 to press for their charter of demands, which include addressing the issues confronting government schools and colleges, filling all vacant teaching and non-teaching posts.
The bandh has been jointly called by the AISF, the SFI and the PDSU, demanding urgent measures to improve basic amenities in government educational institutions and ensure equitable access to quality education for all, according to a press release.
The other main demands of the student unions include strict measures to regulate fees in private and corporate educational institutions, strengthening government schools and colleges by providing essential amenities and recruiting teaching and non-teaching staff.
