Leopard enters Tirupati home, flees after residents raise alarm

Tirupati: A wave of panic has gripped the residents of Venkatapuram near Renigunta after a leopard attempted to stray into a residential home on Friday night. The incident took place at the residence of a local lecturer, identified as Balaji.

According to reports, the leopard was spotted trying to enter the house past midnight. Alerted by the unusual movement, the family members raised a loud alarm, scaring the wild cat and causing it to flee back into the darkness.The close encounter has heightened anxiety in the area, as the leopard has reportedly been roaming around the peripheries of Venkatapuram for the past three days. The animal’s movements have also been captured clearly on local CCTV cameras, confirming its presence and leaving neighborhood residents terrified to step outside their homes at night.As fear mounts, the local community has urged forest department officials to intervene immediately. Residents are demanding that authorities deploy tracking teams and set up traps to safely capture the leopard before any untoward incident occurs. In the meantime, locals are keeping a tight vigil and advising everyone to avoid moving around alone during the night.
