Leopard injures villager in Neemuch

Indore: A leopard attacked and injured a 40-year-old villager in Chainpura village in Neemuch on Tuesday night after straying into a residential area.The leopard initially targeted goats tied inside a residential enclosure.

The villager, Pappu Rawat, managed to scare the animal away, but it returned an hour later. When Rawat attempted to drive it off a second time, the leopard attacked him.

Rawat received medical treatment at a hospital and was discharged on Wednesday evening.According to residents, the leopard has been active near the village for several days, targeting livestock. Following the incident, villagers stayed awake through the night to guard the area. They have submitted a written request to the forest department to deploy a trap cage and increase patrolling.A forest department team has set up camp in the area to monitor the animal’s movements.
