Liquor recovered from guard room at DTO office in Buxar

Buxar: In a joint operation, police and the excise department teams raided the District Transport Office (DTO) campus in Buxar on Thursday and recovered liquor bottles concealed inside a guard room on the premises.Officials said the action followed a tip-off that liquor had been stored within the office compound. Acting swiftly, teams conducted a search of the ground-floor guard room, including its cupboards, adjoining rooms and kitchen area.During the raid, several full liquor bottles, empty bottles and liquor packets were found. The guard room was subsequently sealed.Police have detained four security guards posted at the site for questioning.

Investigators are probing how liquor was brought into a govt office campus and whether a larger network is involved.Buxar sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Gaurav Pandey confirmed the recovery, stating that liquor was found in the guard room and the attached kitchen. He said a seizure list is being prepared, after which the exact quantity will be determined.DTO Rajkumar Prasad said he was unaware of any such activity. He noted that the guard room is located in a corner of the building and is not frequently visited by him. He added that while security personnel are generally given privacy in their designated areas, strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty. “The matter is being treated seriously and all angles are under investigation,” he added.
