NewsIndiaLive: Uddhav Sena to meet today, act against MPs who don't attend amid split buzz
Maharashtra Politics
Shiv Sena UBT Crisis Live Updates: Amid speculation of a split in Shiv Sena (UBT), the party led by Uddhav Thackeray will hold a crucial meeting today to demonstrate unity after reports claimed six of its nine Lok Sabha MPs may defect to the faction led by Eknath Shinde. The party has issued a whip and promised action against MPs who don't attend. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said the meeting would reveal who stands with the party. Senior leader Arvind Sawant dismissed defection reports and challenged claims, demanding proof of meetings with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. However, sources alleged rebel MPs informally met Birla and may seek recognition and merger with Shinde’s Sena. Meanwhile, a local UBT leader threatened MP Sanjay Deshmukh over alleged defection plans. Sources also claimed “Operation Tiger” succeeded, though induction of MPs has been delayed.
