Bhopal: The Special Police Establishment (SPE), Lokayukta, Rewa, on Wednesday caught a tehsil employee in Sidhi district allegedly accepting a Rs 3,000 bribe for facilitating the mutation of ancestral land.Damodar Prasad Saket (54), a Mal Jamadar (peon) posted in the Nazarat and Copy Branch of Gopad Banas tehsildar’s office, was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting the money outside the tehsil office in the collectorate premises.According to the SPE, complainant Nagendra Prasad Tiwari of Gada Lolarsingh village had applied through the MP Online portal for mutation of inherited land based on a will. The accused allegedly demanded money to get the order approved.Tiwari approached Lokayukta on July 1, following which a trap was laid. A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
